If you go on a vacation, even if it is only a weekend, you'll often collect a natural treasure, purchase a memento, or take memorable photos. How is it students finish a multi-year undergraduate education and have few physical souvenirs representing what they have learned?
Physical evidence of learning, through field journaling and record-keeping has a long history in science. Project planning, story telling, and personal reflection have gained renewed focus through blogs, scrapbooks, and sketchbook diaries.
