VividScience Object Stories
Just as anthropologists and historians can understand aspects of the past through close study of objects, science learners can develop more complex understandings of nature through in-depth focus on a select group of objects. "BI 10x in 12 Objects" is a VividScience project that demonstrates how a small number of objects can represent significant science concepts from the relationship of structure to function to how scientific knowledge can be both tentative and durable. Students are also encouraged to apply these analysis techniques to objects in their own lives to experience the world in a new way. (For more VividScience information, click the links on the left)
