VividScience Scrapbook Ephemera
Ephemera, materials intended to be used for a short period of time, can provide insight into the historical development of scientific knowledge, as well as demonstrate how we interact with the natural world. VividScience maintains a collection of science ephemera for use in object assemblages. Currently we are documenting how paper materials from K-16 classrooms in the past century (worksheets, magazines, lesson plans, textbooks) compare to the content and materials currently presented in K-16 science courses. Additional projects include using historical scrapbooks, particular Oregonian pieces, in describing cultural and environmental change. (For more VividScience information, click the links on the left)
