Course TA: Måns Mattsson |
Welcome to PH 411. A practical
electronics course from the physicist's viewpoint. We want to understand
the physics that drive the circuits you build.
12/15 - Thank you all for all your excellent contributions, and complex circuits constructed and analyzed this term. [web content available upon request]
Course materials: Course materials except for Lab
Demo Videos (see menu above) are
posted here at http://sites.science.oregonstate.edu/~grahamat/COURSES/ph411/ (this course site is also mirrored on CANVAS).
Some reports consist of figures and captions only
(see guidelines under each assignment in CANVAS). Others require more
complete write-ups, see the writing resource link above and the lab report summary (.pdf).

Course Work:
Supporting Textbooks:
Similar free online electronics textbooks :
Instructor recommended: Electronics Wikibook, https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Electronics.
Others: All About Circuits, Learning Electronics, Ultimate
Electronics.
Optional: You may wish to buy a SECOND digital
multimeter (DMM)-- you'll actually NEED two meters every class, we
recommed DMM #1.
Everyone will get 1 multimeter to keep thanks to AstroAI for supporting Electronics at Oregon State, Physics.
Additonal DMMs will also be provided at no cost to everyone, but are for
use within the electronics lab only. Most folk will just use your
partner's DMM.
