Policies:
  1. Midterm exams are allotted 50 minutes.  You are encouraged to get to your seat on time.  Exams will be collected in time for an orderly class change; there will be other groups using the room after us.
  2. You may use molecular model kits or plastic drawing templates, but no other material with chemical information on it without prior approval.
  3. Use of music players and other electronic devices is prohibited.

  4. Sample exams from prior years are provided for your benefit. I do not link the keys for these; if you cannot find similar problems in the end-of-chapter work, come see me to verify your work.

    Coverage:  Chapters 11, 12, 13
    Alkenes and alkynes. Formation by elimination (dehydrohalogenation, dehydration); electrophilic additions, radical additions, oxidation reactions. Zaitseff and Markowkikov rules and exceptions.
