Lecture announcements for May 14, 2002:

On Tuesday in lecture I said that we would be spending almost all of the remaining time before next Thursday's exam on Chapter 18.  (I kept open the possibility of doing a little from Chapter 19 next Tuesday, but the chapter on amino acids and proteins seems sufficiently important and challenging that it would be best to spend all of this week and the beginning of next week on it.)  I assigned the following problems from Chapter 18, and made them due next Tuesday:

26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 40, 54, 56, 60, 64(a), 78, 80

Lecture announcements for May 7, 2002:

We will be covering Chapter 16 (sections 1 to 4) and Chapter 17 (sections 1 to 4) this week.  Sections 5 and 6 of Chapter 17 have information relevant to this week's lab, but these were not part of the assigned reading.

Due next Tuesday, May 14, in lecture:

   Chapter 15 problems 42, 44, 52, 56

   Chapter 16 problems 24, 26, 28, 30

   Chapter 17 problems 30, 32, 34, 42

Lecture announcements for April 30, 2002:

I announced in lecture today that we'd be covering only through section 7 of Chapter 14, with section 5 (reactions) to be covered only in part (as needed for lab).  I also pointed students to section 1 of Chapter 17 for additional material relevant to this week's lab and to what I said in lecture today about carboxylic acids.

   Chapter 14 problems 26, 28, 30, 32, and 38 (due next Tuesday).
