The testing is primarily conducted at the 40 acre Botany and Plant Pathology Field Laboratory (Farm) located across the Willamette River from Corvallis (34016 NE Electric Road, Corvallis, OR, 97333)( N 44.565 W 123.242). Several orchards have been established for this program including apples, pears, peaches and cherries. Blueberry, grape, oak, serviceberry and lilac plantings are also available. Several different cultivars are available to capitalize on their phenological characteristics such as resistance or susceptibility to various diseases. Cultivars available include:

 

 

Blueberry:
'Bluetta' and 'Berkeley'

Grape:
'Chardonnay', 'Pinot Noir', 'Pinot Gris' and 'White Riesling'

Hazelnut:
'Ennis' , 'Jefferson' and several numbered selections.

Ornamentals:

Boxwood, Crabapple and Serviceberry

Pome Fruit:
Apple- 'Braeburn', 'Golden Delicious', and 'Rome '

Pear: 'Bartlett '

Stone Fruit:
Cherry- 'Bing', 'Corum' and 'Royal Anne'

Peach: 'Suncrest'

Laboratory facilities are also available at the OSU campus for closer examination of disease development and evaluation. This could include determination of latent infections, isolation of pathogens from diseased tissues, determining degree of resistance of pathogens to control measures, closer examination of phytotoxic effects to plants and evaluation of post harvest disease development.
