Science Notebook Pages

One of the graduate teaching assistants, Adam Devitt, enhanced the Physics 111 course by interlinking science and literacy, and by making the connections between those subjects applicable to students. One way he fostered science and literacy learning was through the creation and use of science notebook pages. The science notebook pages that Adam created provide students with a way to organize their thoughts as they develop science concepts. There is space to draw pictures and/or write about the phases of learning: Before, During, and After activities. Spaces are also included for new vocabulary, for powerful ideas and scientific evidence for those ideas, for reflections, and for further curiosities.
