Bee Virus X and Bee Virus Y
Causative Agent: Virus
Range: Primarily in Great Britain but cases have been reported in North America & Australia
Life cycle/ Symptoms:
- Both viruses are typically encountered with Nosema infections
- Bee Virus X is only found in the winter, is more common then and is less virulent then Bee Virus Y
- Bee Virus Y occurs in May and June in Great Britain
- Dead bees accumulate beneath and surrounding the hive.
