Curriculum Vitae
My research lies at the intersection of data sciences and dynamics
Application research spans climate dynamics, oceandynamics, scientific computing, and uncertainty quantification.
My primary teaching responsibilities are in
data sciences, numerical analysis and scientific computing,
as well as applied analysis.
My most important service activity is to promote science and advise young scientists from
under-represented groups.
I am a Fellow of the American Physical Society, a Fellow of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics. I was awarded the SIAM Geosciences Career Prize in 2017. I was a Department of Energy Young Investigator Awardee, and a DOE ORISE Distinguished Post-doc Fellow.
I also consult in architectural, engineering, and physical acoustics.
Prior to becoming a scientist I was a professional musician.
My technical training is in applied mathematics
and physics. I also have training in electrical engineering and
engineering acoustics.
