3D Visualization with Maple, Mathematica & VisAD (Java)
CPUG Material Development
David McIntyre, Summer 2001 (rhl mods)
Material is being developed to integrate a broad array of
visualization tools, particularly for 3-D data sets, into the new
curriculum for the
CPUG program.
Below are three examples of how to visualize a 3-D data set using
different tools. Each one uses the same basic data generated by
modification of a Java program from PH265.
- Maple:
Data set is read into Maple and plotted. Maple allows for
interactive rotation of the generated plot.
- Mathematica:
Data set is plotted in Mathematica and then output in a form that
can be posted on a web site.
- VisAD:
A Java system for data visualization (under development).
