Oregon State University is engaged in a major hiring initiative to enhance the disciplinary-based and education-based synergy of STEM education research in life-long learning, K-12 education, transition to college, lower- and upper-division university education. We anticipate six tenure-line faculty positions in addition to a full-time, permanent director of the new Center for Research in Lifelong STEM Learning are advertised for the 2012-2013 academic year with a tenure home in the College of Science, Education, or Engineering. The new Center works closely with our Center for Teaching and Learning and Technology Across the Curriculum office to promote best practices. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong interest in doing collaborative research in this setting, and within the broader education community.

Faculty Position in Physics Education Research

The Physics Department at Oregon State University invites applications for a full time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated start date of Sept 16, 2012. We are looking for individuals with a strong background and future research plans to expand our Physics Education Research Group. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or a related area. The successful candidate is expected to teach physics effectively at the lower division, upper division, and graduate levels. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong interest in doing collaborative research in a large and vibrant university group and within the broader education community.
