The Paradigms in Physics group at Oregon State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position involving the evaluation and dissemination of our novel upper-division curricular materials. The successful candidate will teach one upper-division course per term using materials developed by the Paradigms program. The successful candidate will also work with the Paradigms in Physics team to: conduct research on the effects of Paradigms curricular materials on student understanding of E & M or quantum mechanics; and/or conduct research on student changes in metacognition and epistemology; and/or write/design web and textbook materials for the dissemination of the Paradigms curriculum.
The appointment is for one year with a possible renewal for a second year contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. The starting date of the appointment is September 15, 2011, but this date is somewhat flexible.
