I tried this activity for the first time in 2010. Although students had fun, it was not clear to me whether the knowledge gained was worth the time spent. Rotating the balloon at constant speed was not always easy, making it difficult to investigate more complicated trajectories — as is done for example in the Earth Hockey activities. On the other hand, this activity is much simpler than those, and provides immediate visual feedback.
