For each group: one sheet of chart paper, magic markers, masking tape to put up on wall

Finishing websites:
Laptop for each small group, cameras, download device

Reviewing
For each group: old midterm, whiteboard, whiteboard markers

9:35-9:50 Defining literacy
What does the phrase ‘literacy learning’ mean? Draw and describe examples.
(Students likely will think about reading and writing. Encourage some to think about speaking and listening as well. Also critiquing and creating media resources.)
Assign each group a task to draw and write:
Group 1: Speaking and listening
Group 2: writing
Group 3: reading
Group 4: creating media, critiquing media

9:50-10:30 Finishing thermal websites
Each small group works on laptop computer to upload a photo for each day (Days 5, 6, 7, and 8) and write the relevant powerful ideas developed for that day
Post URL on Discussion Board when finished

10:30-10:45 Discussing homework
10:45-11:20 Reviewing (small groups work on spring midterm – each does a problem and presents)
