Climate Change Diagnostic Questions
Navigation Links
We begin our exploration of the influence of light and thermal phenomena on climate change on Day 13, after the midterm.
The opening activity involves documenting the students' initial knowledge with diagnostic questions:
Diagnostic Questions about Climate Change
The diagnostic questions document the students' awareness of the greenhouse effect, knowledge about the greenhouse effect and rising sea levels, their prior study of climate change if any, and questions they may have about climate change.
The students respond to the diagnostic both at the beginning and the end of the unit. Their responses are scanned and then returned.
As part of a homework assignment or take-home exam question, they compare their initial and current responses, discuss changes in their understandings, and reflect upon their learning processes.
