• For students to develop the ability to use geometric models to describe certain physical processes;
• For students to develop a geometric understanding of special relativity using hyperbolic trigonometry;
• For students to develop a geometric understanding of line elements (metric tensors) and their use in describing spacetimes;
• For students to develop an understanding of simple matter models in general relativity;
• For students to develop the ability to use Einstein's field equation to analyze the properties of simple spacetimes;
• For students to develop a geometric understanding of simple black hole models;
• For students to develop an understanding of the properties of simple cosmological models.
• For students to appreciate the unifying thread brought to these topics by the use of differential forms.
