GROUPS
MTH 338 - Spring 2006

Most of your written work for this course will be reviewed by other class members as well as by the instructor. For this purpose, you have been assigned to a group in Blackboard. To access your group site:

• Log on to Blackboard;
• Select MTH 338;
• Click on the Communiciations button on the left;
• Click on Group Pages;
• Click on the active link.

In the last step, there should have been exactly one active link, to the single group to which you have been assigned. At this point, you can email the members of your group, post documents only they can see, or post messages to a bulletin board only they can see.

There are two ways to submit written work to the group:

• Post it as a group document;
• Email it to your group.

I encourage you to use email for short assignments, and to post longer assignments, or those involving special formatting. Please observe the following ground rules:

• Please send email as plain text, preferably without attachments;
• Please post documents in a standard format.

I personally prefer postings in PDF, but can handle any of the formats described here. Most folks can handle Word files, but please verify this with your group. Anyone who has difficulty with particular formats should be sure to let their group know.

When commenting on other people's work, you are strongly encouraged to use the group bulletin board provided for that purpose, so that a permanent record of the discussion is easily available.
