The final is comprehensive: Roughly half the exam will cover material since the 2nd Midterm, and roughly half will cover material up to the 2nd Midterm. Good things to review:

  • The Cumulative Test on page 590.
  • The Review Exercises on pages 585-586.
  • Review Exercises 35-42 and 45-50 on page 866.
  • The Unit 3 Test on page 63 of the Study Guide.
  • The sample Final on pages 64-65 of the Study Guide.

    In §6.5, we will not cover the Product-to-Sum and Sum-to-Product formulas on pages 520-521.
    However, it is worth knowing that they exist, and where to find them.

    There are two patterns, only one of which is relevant to the problem.

    The figure in the text for problem 36 of §5.7 on page 468 is incorrect! The angle of depression should be measured with respect to the horizontal, and is therefore only 55-28=27° in the figure. The correct answer to the problem as written is 11.8; the correct answer to the problem as drawn in the figure is 12.6.

    Grades will be based on the numerical results of your exams and quizzes/labs, as described in the grading policy. The single number obtained this way will be curved. This curve will be no stricter than

    A
    80-89
    B

    F
    A plus or minus may be appended to a letter grade.
