CoSInE has set up user accounts (onid credentials) for pritha, julian, joseph on wngr118-pc05. Okan and Cameron already had them. You now have permission to access the computer remotely. Instructions for remote access from Joe Defilippis of CoSINe were emailed an someone can upload them here. In our group, only I have admin privileges.
Very important is that ONLY ONE PERSON AT A TIME can connect remotely, so we will have to be disciplined about not leaving the remote connection on if we are not actively using the software. Please close the application and log out when you’re done. Just closing the connection seems to leave the software running and blocks other users.
The SCOUT program lives in the optics folder (C:\Users\optics\Desktop\SCOUT) and NOT C:\SCOUT. It is possible they are the same but the first folder has all the right permissions and license files. Please will you check if you can access it? As non admin uses, you do NOT have access to other users’ folders so it may be a good idea to store your folders in a common accessible area in the optics folder. I THINK” the optics folder is a common are that all of you can access, but I am not sure because I am admin and can see everything. So we’ll just have to try.
