Student preparation: Students should have completed MTH 251
and MTH 252 or equivalent. Please refresh your calculus and
pre-calculus skills (especially differentiation, integration,
trigonometry, and log-exponential functions).

SYLLABUS: We will cover Chapters 11-13 and part of Chapter 10
of the textbook and in particular
" Coordinates, vectors, vector functions, and curves in
two and three dimensions. Surfaces, partial derivatives, gradients,
and directional derivatives. Multiple integrals in rectangular, polar,
cylindrical, and spherical coordinates. Physical and geometric
applications."

GRADING POLICY:
The final grade will be computed from the
sum of online homework grade (10%) and exam grade (90%).
EXAMS: There will be two midterm exams (counting each 30 pts
of the grade) in class on
Friday 2/3 and Friday 2/24 ,
and a
(cumulative)
Final on Tuesday, March 20 at 14:00 in WNGR 151, counting
twice as a midterm (that is, 60 pts). The exam grade will be computed
as the sum of three best out of these four scores. (No make up exams
will be given but you can make up for one midterm on the final).
