Nomenclature of Amines

If the amine is the single functional group present, the carbon skeleton  is named as a radical (ending in -yl) and added to the suffix -amine.

Cyclohexylamine (or aminocyclohexane)

If there are multiple groups in a 2° or 3° amine, they are named in alphabetic sequence.

In more complex molecules (e.g., where the presence of a carboxylic acid may take priority over the amine), the prefix amino may be used with the appropriate positional designator.

Common names are often used, particularly with heterocyclic amines.
