Former BRG Member:

Alex Zuk (Undergraduate Research Assistant) [2015-16]

Alex Zuk was born in Ohio in 1995. When he was 7 his parents made the fortuitous choice to move to Oregon. At West Salem High School his interest for science developed under the instruction of Dr. Lampert and became the foundation which he hoped to build upon in higher education. After taking his first class in college chemistry, Alex became more interested in how the subject can be applied to explain the workings of life and the universe, thus prompting him to switch his major to chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry. Soon after learning basic organic chemistry under the instruction of Dr. Blakemore, Alex joined the BRG at the beginning of his third year. Alongside his interest for chemistry Alex hopes to become a dentist or a medical examiner after completing his undergraduate studies. When he’s not studying, Alex enjoys playing the clarinet, snowboarding, mountain biking, and backpacking.
