General Information for Students
The Department of Mathematics encourages its
students to gain hands on/direct work experience at some stage of
their education. This program is open to all University of Arizona
students, particularly students in the sciences and engineering.
The AIMES is an informal program that serves as an information clearing
house
for the many existing opportunities in government laboratories, industry,
corporations, and other academic departments. AIMES will
schedule a meeting in the Fall and Spring semesters at which students will learn about all the details about the AIMES including the Purpose and Goal of Internship and Useful Links to apply for Internship.
 General Information about AIMES
The AIMES committee members do
not get involved with students' applications, other than during
scheduled meetings, nor do they have any direct connection
with any of the internship program sponsors. Students are expected to
contact the internship sponsors directly and make their own arrangements
with regards to their applications.
Most internship opportunities occur during summer months. Applications,
however, are usually due in late fall. Pls contact the Schedule of Meetings to get further information.
