=====Research Connect-Up Seminar (PH607)====== During the winter quarter our department offers a "Research Connect-Up Seminar" for our first year grad students. The seminar fulfills two purposes: -Introduction to PhD research topics that are available to our students. The discussion is lead by faculty members. -Discussion of research ethics (required by the NSF and other funding agencies). The discussion is based on reading materials available on www.citiprogram.org (see reading assignment #1 below). Each reading assignment is followed by a short online test - you must pass all the online tests to satisfy the graduate school requirement for ethics training. ==== PH607 Schedule: Winter 2013 ==== *Seminars start on Fridays at 1pm. *Faculty presentations will start at 1.20pm if there is one speaker, or 1.10pm/1.40pm if we have two speakers. *All seminars are in 377 Weniger, except week 2 in the Valley Library *Students are expected to host the faculty speakers.
