SPIRAL
A hockey puck is launched from a far northern
latitude toward the west with a speed slightly less than the
local speed of the earth. In the inertial frame, the puck
moves slowly to the east.

Blue: Inertial Great Circle
Red: Path on rotating earth
Gray: Path on stationary earth
(only half the length it should be)
