Documentation: ---------------- Currently all documentation is web based. If you cannot find the documentation try searching around the author's home page: http://www.physics.orst.edu/~bertrand Briefly: -------- The purpose of the program is to play sound of oscillating data stored in xy-formatted text files. Due to security restrictions for web based applets, this data must be pasted into the text window rather than loaded from a file on your harddrive. Thus the web based applet must be used in conjunction with a text editor with good cut and paste capablity. The only way to avoid this indirect way of working with your data is to use the (non-web-based) java application version of this program (which requires a java capable system). Running the applet: --------------------- Support for classes in SUN.AUDIO libraries is REQUIRED for playing sound; thus sound on appletviewer and Netscape 3.x may not work. We recommend Netscape Navigator 4.x or later versions. This applet has been tested on Netscape 4 under IBM AIX (unix) sys- tems. On mac and Windows systems, it has been observed that text buffers often overfill causing loss of data; thus only small datasets should be entered on such systems. --------------------------------- MaxEnries -- int -- max number of rows for input
