Using Pine
|
Let's tell pine we want to compose a letter:
> C
To: userid@ucs.orst.edu
[return]
, the
highlighted bar should move down to the carbon copy line
Cc
. This is used for secondary recipients of your letter,
and may include a list of names. (You may also use a list as primary
recipients.) Why not cc yourself in, press [return]
,
and move on.
The line Attchmnt
should now be highlighted. This
allows you to send files to other people without physically pasting those
files into your letter. This is the useful for sending files with a note
attached. We'll attach area.f
:
Attchmnt: area.f
Subject
. Make it
descriptive since the recipient's mailer often indicates only the sender
and the subject of the mail; a bad subject may cause your letter to be
"junked":
Subject: mail example
Message Text
is highlighted. This is where you
place your message. Type "Hello, testing" (or anything you want).
When you are done with your message, look at the bottom of the screen
for the You are
now prompted at the bottom of the screen to Send
option. The highlighted characters immediately
to the left of this are "control x". Enter these by pressing the
[ctrl]
key and the x key simultaneously.
