THE VIRTUAL GEIGER COUNTER
The script that runs the simulation on our server as well as the Geiger Counter applet are no longer permitted for security reasons. However you can listen to the sound (geiger.mp3) of one of our simulations, or you can run the Python codes Decay.py or DecaySound.py (from our Computational Physics text). However, this decay simulation applet may still run if you give it permission.
You can create your own Geiger-counter sound by specifying the decay constant
and the number of atoms at the beginning of the simulation. To keep the size of
the soundfile and the amount of CPU time on our machine reasonable, I limited
the number of atoms to 500 and the length of the soundfiles to 10 seconds.
