DIFRACTION
Difraction occurs when a beam of ligth passses through a slit with width
comparable to the wavelength. If you have N slits the difraction
pattern is the superposition of an interference pattern of N sources and
the difraction pattern of a slit. This program simulates the Fraunhofer
difraction for some slits and it is posible to change slit parameters and
the wavelength..
Instructions:
-
The vertical scroll bar changes the incident wavelength in the visible
range.
-
The distance between the two slits (a) is controlled with the left
horizontal scroll bar.
-
The width of each slit (b) is handled with the right horizontal scroll
bar.
-
You can choose, from the list, the number of slits (between 1 and 8).
-
The button Acercar (zoom in) decreases the distance between the
screen and the slits.
-
The button Alejar (zoom out) increases the distance
between the screen and the slits.
-
In order to go back to initial distance (predetermined) press the button
Reset.
-
At the left hand side appears the a and b values, wich are
proportional to the slit separation and the width of the slit , respectively.
