§ 12.B: The Pine mailer

To use pine on the ucs computer, first telnet to ucs, and then login. At the prompt (which may have the computer's name and your file location), enter the mailer's name:

Your screen should now contain pine's Main Menu along with several options. Before working the different features of pine, notice the subcommands at the bottom of the page. To see other available subcommands, enter the letter O; to get a help document, enter ?:

The commands in the middle of the screen are activated either by moving to the highlight bar with the arrows, or by typing the letter corresponding to that command. (On some remote terminals, the arrows keys may not work.)

In the next section we will use pine to send some email.
