To peer review a proposal, simply reply to the thread in the discussion board. First person to indicate that they intend to review a particular proposal by repling to the thread
has preference. You may type your review in the reply or attach a pdf. If you prefer handwritting a review, for example, on a printout of the proposal, then scan your review and upload a pdf. You should at least do the following:
- Read work thoroughly once.
- Comment (positive and negative) on the work with respect to each of the following:
- Was there a clear presentation of a question regarding
an application that the author intends to answer using a mathematical
model?
- Did the author describe why answering that question is important?
- Were sufficient details described (e.g., what type of equation will be used in the model) to evaluate the merits of the proposal?
- Were all uncommon terms and concepts defined?
- Would you fund the research? Explain why or why not? What aspects are the most interesting?
- Suggest one direction for the research that the author has not mentioned.
