1. Read work thoroughly once.
  2. Comment (positive and negative) on the work with respect to each of the following:
    1. Was there a clear presentation of a question regarding an application that the author intends to answer using a mathematical model?
    2. Did the author describe why answering that question is important?
    3. Were sufficient details described (e.g., what type of equation will be used in the model) to evaluate the merits of the proposal?
    4. Were all uncommon terms and concepts defined?
  3. Would you fund the research? Explain why or why not? What aspects are the most interesting?
  4. Suggest one direction for the research that the author has not mentioned.
