Some initial thoughts that will be fleshed out later using the exploring the woods/park analogy.
- knowing the territory well and make sure you know the boundaries on what you are willing for them to explore
- knowing what you want to see in the territory - what the highlights are
- being willing to take any path through the territory
- connecting those different paths to hit all the highlights
- understand how to get from what student's express (active listening and translating) to the highlights
- remind them of the tools that they have and give them new tools as they need them
- keeping positive
