Different frequencies of voice and music are being sent out by the radio in terms of how the current is varied. The signal is coming through the wire which makes different things happen in the cup to create different sounds.
The bigger the coil, the stronger the magnet, the louder the sound. However students recognized that there are factors which are changing-- different cup sizes and different magnets could cause the variance in volume.

Previously, we have talked about frequency, tone, pitch, and vibrations in regards to sound.
Different Ways of Talking about Sound:
Amplitude- how big the wave is in terms of height.
Wave Length- D=distance from one wave to another.
Frequency- the faster the wave moves, the faster the frequency. Counts the number of “humps/how many waves per second.”
Pitch- how you hear a sound. Can be high or low.
In order to have sound, there must be something vibrating.
In Electricity, some…text/html2012-03-01T11:29:25-08:00days:winter2012daybyday:winter2012day16:reflecting

Student 1
Learned: “Sometimes it's really hard to get our ideas across. You could have something make sense in your head and not verbalize it... it makes it hard to ask for help. If my future students use incorrect terms, I just want them to get their idea out before correcting them later. That may be the only way they know how to get their point across.”
Wants to Know: “I'm wondering why the magnets that are placed next to each other cancel each other out.”
