At Discovery Days, bus loads of kids from local schools came to the LaSells Stewart Center. Our students had set up stations with light probes, temperature probes, and pinhole cameras.
The following list is composed of points that the students made upon asking to reflect on their experience at Discovery Days:text/html2012-05-03T11:25:31-08:00days:spring2012daybyday:spring2012day10:reflections

Student 1
Learned: I feel more comfortable with all of the material that you've explained. It helped to look over things a second time.
Student 2
Learned: I learned more about finding the temperature of hot water, and the extension of the formula that I already knew.
Wants to Know: I'm wondering if I could talk about this stuff with my 4th/5th grade kids.text/html2012-12-01T01:34:34-08:00days:spring2012daybyday:spring2012day10:sharing_moon_observations

One student saw the moon on 4/22 at 9:00 pm. She reported the moon to look crescent-shape and said it was bright and skinny.
Another student saw the moon on 4/28 at 11:00 pm and drew a waxing crescent moon.
Another student drew an obtuse angle with the sun, moon on the horizon bright, craters were shaded in. Seemed really bigtext/html2012-05-03T11:25:47-08:00days:spring2012daybyday:spring2012day10:start
