**Heat and Temperature Diagnostic**\\
We gave each student a handout to document their current understanding in regards to heat and temperature. The handout read:\\

Some ice and a little  bit of water are placed in a glass beaker. The beaker is placed on a heater. Eventually the ice melts. The heater continues to heat the liquid. Eventually the water begins to boil. The heater continues to heat the boiling water.\\
