Small groups generate a question about the moon to explore\\
Go on a field trip to sidewalk if sunny to ‘observe’ the sun\\
Bring sky journals, observe moon is not visible\\
also bring pinhole envelopes, meter sticks, pencils to record diameter of the Sun’s projection; \\
(If not sunny, use lamps without shades inside, but do review first)\\
10:00-10:10	Reviewing resources, powerful ideas about light, ray diagrams, and scientific explanations (Emily)
10:10-10:45	Using mathematics to estimate a quantity of interest:\\ 
If sunny: how big is the sun?\\
If not sunny: how represent pinhole phenomena mathematically? \\
(inside with light bulb, movable pinholes, wax screens:\\
After develop pinhole formula, then pass out sun projections from earlier classes and use to estimate how big is the sun?)\\
10:45-11:05	Reporting Findings\\
