==== Overview of Current Hiring Initiative ====

Oregon State University is engaged in a major hiring initiative to enhance the disciplinary-based and education-based synergy of STEM education research in life-long learning, K--12 education, transition to college, lower- and upper-division university education. We anticipate a total of six tenure-line faculty positions in addition to a full-time, permanent director of the new [[http://stem.science.oregonstate.edu/home|Center for Research in Lifelong STEM Learning]], with tenure homes in the College of Science, Education, or Engineering.  Five of  the first six positions were filled during the 2012--2013 academic year.

The new Center will work closely with our [[http://oregonstate.edu/ctl/|Center for Teaching and Learning]] and [[http://oregonstate.edu/tac/|Technology Across the Curriculum]] office to promote best practices. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong interest in doing collaborative research in this setting, and within the broader education community.
