Lower Salmon
River by ICPAES. Lonnie

Abstract;
Three different sediment samples were analyzed from a
geoarchaeolical site on the lower Salmon River in western Idaho. It was suspected
that SR-69 unit 21 was potentially from a megaflood event that was brought
upstream from the Snake River, and if this was
so, it was suspected that the elemental concentrations would be significantly
different from sediment layers SR-64 units 6 and 15 which were suspected to be
of local origin. Twenty elements were analyzed by AES-ICP ten of these produced
results that were within the range for the equipment. Using Students’s t, seven
elements from this remaining ten showed significant differences in
concentration, and an eighth elements was probable, but partially outside the
range.
