Determination of Vitamin B12 in Sports Drinks via HPLC. Aurea c. Chiaia, Andy J. Larkin, Tuan M. Nguyen.  2005.

Abstract:

The concentration of Vitamin B12 in sports drinks was analyzed via High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) AND Diode Array was used in order to determine the absorbance of vitamin B12, which was determined to be 360nm and 550nm. Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) was used to isolate vitamin B12 from the sports drink matrix. A calibration curve was constructed using four standards with concentrations of 0, 20.40, and 50 ppb. The slope and the intercept were determined to be 12.6x103 ±1.3x103 and -23.9x103 ±46.2x103, respectively.
