Determination of Levels of Cocaine on One and Twenty Dollar Bills (using SIM) ('03)

This laboratory experiment is based on one presented in  JCE.  The purpose of the analysis was the determination of the mass of cocaine on WU paper currency.  The procedure utilized solid phase extraction and GCMS for the isolation and quantification f the analyte.  In the particular experiment, $1 and $20 bills were used and the quantities compared.  The $1 bills were found to containing an average of 2.9 ug cocaine per bill and the $20 an average of 0.68 ug/bill.
