PREREQUISITES AND OVERRIDES FOR 2010/2011

CH 331 - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I
This course is offered online.  OSU Ecampus assists students with the selection of an approved examination proctor in their local community.

Since prior completion of one full year of general chemistry is an institutional/departmental requirement for enrollment in CH 331 the chemistry department asks that all prospective students, both degree-seeking and non-degree seeking students, provide documentation verifying completion of the course prerequisites.  The prerequisite waiver mechanism enables the department to accommodate students who have completed their general chemistry prerequisites at another institution.

Regarding registration for the Winter Term 2012 online offering of CH 331  This course is now full.  Including outstanding prerequisite overrides processed and issued by Ecampus the waitlist is also full.  We are therefore unable to process further registration inquiries for this course.

The next online offering of CH 331 is Fall Term 2012.

How to apply for a prerequisite override for the Fall 2012 online offering of CH 331 Please check back in early April for instructions on when/how to apply for a prerequisite override.

CH 332 - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY II
This course is offered online.  OSU Ecampus assists students with the selection of an approved examination proctor in their local community.

Since prior completion of one full year of general chemistry and the equivalent of CH 331 are institutional/departmental requirements for enrollment in CH 332 the chemistry department asks that all prospective students, both degree-seeking and non-degree seeking students, provide documentation verifying completion of the course prerequisites.  The prerequisite waiver mechanism enables the department to accommodate students who have completed their prerequisites at another institution.
How to apply for a prerequisite override for the Winter 2012 online offering of CH 332 (CRN 34382) Please email a copy of your undergraduate academic transcript(s) to Kim Thackray of the Chemistry Department's Ecampus support staff (Kim.Thackray@oregonstate.edu).  Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.  Transcripts will be reviewed in the order they are received.

CH 337 - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
This course will be offered as a hybrid online/on-site format in a 6-week session during Summer Term 2012 (Jun 25-Aug 3).  Weeks 1-2 and 5-6 are online and weeks 3-4 are on-site on the OSU campus.  The two week on-site portion on the OSU campus is the sequence’s practical laboratory component.  OSU Extended-campus assists students with the selection of an approved examination proctor in their local community.

Since prior completion of one full year of general chemistry and the equivalent of CH 331 and CH 332 are institutional/departmental requirements for enrollment in CH 337 the chemistry department asks that all prospective students, both degree-seeking and non-degree seeking students, provide documentation verifying completion of the course prerequisites.  The prerequisite waiver mechanism enables the department to accommodate students who have completed their prerequisites at another institution.
