1. Write a concise letter explaining the discrepancy. For example, "My scores posted add up to 350. The sum listed is only 320. My records indicate the difference is in an incorrectly recorded total quiz score." Address this letter to the "General Chemistry Curriculum and Policy Committee; Department of Chemistry; Oregon State University. Sign the letter. Include your name, ID number, date, e-mail address, and any pertinent attachments--such as your scored quizzes.
2. Place the letter in your instructor's mailbox in Gilbert Hall 156. This room is located on the first floor of Gilbert Hall across from the Chemistry Office.
3. Your response will arrive by e-mail.
Under no conditions is a student to approach the instructor and ask for "Extra Credit" or a "Grade Change."
