Former BRG Member:

Huw D. Vater (Graduate Research Assistant) [2002-2006]

Huw Vater obtained an M. Sci. degree in Chemistry with first class honors from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge (U.K.) in 2002. Huw conducted his Part III research project with Dr Jon Burton and investigated diastereoselective allylation reactions. After graduation, Huw joined the Blakemore Research Group at the University of Leeds and achieved the first examples of stereospecific reagent controlled homologation (StReCH) of boronic esters by enantioenriched alkyllithium and alkylmagnesium carbenoids. Huw completed his Ph. D. research in Leeds under the local guidance of Dr. Stephen Marsden in 2006.
