Bryce C. Dawson (Graduate Research Assistant) [2020 - 2024] | |
Bryce Dawson was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1995. He received an A.A. from Kirkwood Community College in the Spring of 2016 while he pursued a degree in Microbiology at the University of Iowa. During the course of Bryce's studies, organic chemistry became his primary area of interest, and ultimately led to his graduation in the Spring of 2019 when he received B.S. degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. During his time as an undergraduate student, he worked briefly in a microbiology research lab run by Dr. Kirby, but soon after joined the Friestad Research Group where he worked on solution phase synthesis of organo-silicon derivatized tripeptides as masked N,O-acetals. After beginning his graduate studies at OSU in the Fall of 2020, he was accepted into the Blakemore Research Group, and worked on the continued investigation of carbenoid eliminative cross-coupling (CEXc) for the stereospecific synthesis of trienes.
